The Vietnam veteran presented with high blood pressure even though his lifestyle was very disciplined: vegetarian eating, vegetable juicing, exercise, and lean body shape. When he took his B/P it was 150+/88. At the first session, the first B/P was 180/90 although he admitted to having “white coat syndrome.” After the session (4 leeches) it was 139/80. On returning home, he periodically took readings, and the lowest (12 hours later) was 115/70. The second session (7 leeches) was seven days later. His B/P now stays near 130/80.

The woman presented with lymphatic stasis and varicosity in the lower extremities, with previous medical treatment of the small saphenous vein and surface varicosities. She had to wear medium compression stockings (knees down) due to pain and swelling. Two days after the first session (6 leeches) her pain went from 10 to 3 without the need to wear stockings. After the second session (7 leeches) the pain dropped to .5 or 1 depending on work demands.

During an episode of food poisoning, the pain returned in her legs but resolved with another session. She has continued with treatments to detoxify the internal organs and reports feeling physically well and emotionally strong.

My name is Connie and I work in the office of Dr. Abram Ber. I have been working here for 4 years and have seen all kinds of homeopathic and natural modalities while employed here. I am a generally healthy person and use this medicine mostly as preventative. However, this summer I needed to utilize one of the therapies offered here in the office, Hirudotherapy (medical leach therapy). My lower extremities became very swollen and it was painful for me to walk.
